Our fine art prints are printed on Hahnemühle German Etching fine art paper using the giclée printing process. The fine art paper is museum quality and has a slight texture, which gives the bird prints a 3D effect in the finished result.

The birds depicted in the fine art prints are reproductions of watercolour paintings commissioned in the mid-18th Century and painted by some of the greatest wildlife and botanical painters of their day. The artists include Charles Collins, Peter Paillou and Jacobus Van Huysum.

Each notebook has an 18th Century painting of a bird on its cover. The original paintings were commissioned by Taylor White, a Fellow of The Royal Society, a judge and founding Treasurer of The Foundling Hospital. Being a passionate amateur naturalist, he commissioned the paintings from the best wildlife artists of his day, using specimen from the British Museum, where he was a governor, the Royal Collection and
