McLurcher™ Boot Bandit

McLurcher™ Boot Bandit

McLurcher™ Boot Bandit is a comic Highland scene about one canine crime and its muddy getaway.

A silver-haired Highland laird has been caught mid-scramble over a rickety timber gate, one hand flung out in horror. He wears a feathered tartan bonnet, a tweed jacket and waistcoat, a fur sporran and a rather windswept kilt. One sock-clad foot is still on the gate and the other is bare. His boot is already making its escape, clamped firmly in the jaws of a shaggy white lurcher who is bounding down the track in a spray of peaty mud.

The gate wears a hand-lettered sign: “Gates are merely suggestions.” Both man and dog seem to have taken it to heart. A row of black-faced sheep watches from behind the fence, quietly unimpressed. Beyond them, a signpost points to Glen More, Loch Duin and “Adventures This Way”, and the track winds on toward a whitewashed cottage beside a sparkling loch. Purple heather, golden bracken, lichen-covered stone walls and layered blue mountains complete the picture, all under a bright Highland sky.

Created by Pippa for the McLurcher™ Collection, the artwork is full of small details to find, from the dog’s brass collar bell to the muddy droplets flying from the stolen boot. It is a warm, affectionate piece for anyone who has ever owned a dog with a mind of its own, which is to say, most of us.

Available as greetings cards, postcards, fine art prints, amongst other formats. Ideal for birthdays, Father’s Day, thank-you notes, get-well wishes, retirement cards or simply a good laugh.
